God is clear in His word, He desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4) When I think in this phrase taken from the song “So Will I” by Hillsong United that says:
“I can see Your heart Eight billion different ways Every precious one A child You died to save’
It reminds me of this incredible and relentless love that God desires to show to each and every person on this planet. In this ministry in which I am serving down here in Ensenada, Baja California, I have to amazing privilege of sharing this love to hundreds of people every week who have never experienced love from God, let alone real love period. The stories break my heart oftentimes, but you don’t know how amazing it is to see someone with a past of drugs, alcohol, abusive relationships, a past of looking for love for their entire lives in the brokenness and hopelessness of the situation in which they found themselves, finally find God. When this person comes to know the God that has been reaching out to them for their entire lives, that is a moment you never forget. The changed life of someone that thought they were too far away from God to have a relationship with Him, is the most amazing act of grace that I am able to witness. Their depression turns to joy, their condemnation turns to liberation, their guilt turns to a reckless love for God and his people. By God’s grace i’m able to share this story: the sweetest story ever told. This is the story of a God who gave everything for the sinner. Not only was He willing to die once, but he would do it again a hundred billion times for these precious children and if He was willing to “give his life to love them”, then so am I.
